With all that our community has done to support us for over 25 years, Muth & Company Roofing is always looking for ways to reciprocate by supporting sports and school programs in the community, as well as other great causes and organizations.
This year, we were pleased to once again lend our support to a very worthy local organization that was founded by three OSU football players almost 20 years ago: The 2nd & 7 Foundation. They sponsor a yearly event called The Derby, which was held at EXPRESS LIVE! on March 9th. Several members of the Muth team had the pleasure of attending: Chad & Gina Muth, Jen Summa, Lisa Trott, Grant & Chelsea Smith, and Jameson & Crystal Lett.
Bow Ties and Big Hats
The Derby is a fun event put on annually to raise money for this important organization. It features horse racing and wagering, a silent auction, raffle prizes, and plenty of drinks and hors d’oeuvres. We enjoyed mingling with area VIPs, and even had the pleasure of naming and wagering on four horses: Master Elite, Need a Roof, Call Muth and Steep Slope. Alas, none of the horses lived up to their illustrious names!
Spreading Literacy Across the Country
While it began as a small community program to fight illiteracy and give the children in our area the tools for a good education, the dream of the 2nd & 7 Foundation caught on quickly. The program is now benefiting children in need across our nation, providing them with free books and giving high school and college athletes the opportunity to interact with and be positive role models for these children.
